A man takes a lie detector test while the frog watches; the machine explodes in the final panel.

A polygraph test takes an unexpected turn.

Transcript

Header: AROUND THE BACK, with a snail. THE LIE DETECTOR. Same problems. Different entrance.

Panel 1: An examiner sits behind a polygraph machine. The man is connected to its sensors; the frog watches with coffee.

Examiner: "Have you ever cheated on a partner?"

Man: "No."

Panel 2:

Examiner: "Have you ever wanted to?"

Man: "No."

Panel 3:

Frog: "Ask if he’s ever had a partner."

Panel 4: Silent. The polygraph explodes, scattering parts and a strip of paper with a jagged red trace. The examiner recoils.
